You wake up one morning to find that your significant other has mysteriously changed sex during the night. Would you be able to stay with them, or would you have to break it off?

Supposing that I had a significant other, no. I am not gay and if I ever thought that something like that had happened, I would most likely think that I have lost my sanity and seek professional help (a Psychiatrist).

Well, this would certainly put the old saying that its only the inside that counts. Could any of us stay with our "soulmate" if they were suddenly the opposite sex? About the only people who would not have a problem would be the Bis among us on the board. Could I? I would like to think I could look past the outside, but I really don't know if I could stay with that person.

That's not the only question you have to consider. What about whether or not your significant other would still be attracted to you? Part of dating, like it or not, is sexual attraction. As time goes on, most people will look more for someone they can tolerably spend the rest of their lives with and who would make a good parent, if they wish to have children.

Even at 20, I look back at some of the girls I wanted to date in high school and wonder what the Hell I was thinking. I'd never date them now, because they were and probably still are vacuous idiots, uninteresting or simply average in any kind of intellectual quality.

i wouldnt be able to stay with such a person because i consider an essential part of choosing a significant other to be the ability to have children with them and to have children with them. If my sig. other changed sex, there could be no kids made of a mixing of our DNA so then there wouldnt be much point in continuing

cant say, depends on many factors. firstly i find anal sex somewhat...unsanitary and thus distasteful from my side, so in order to stay id have to be able to figure that one out. secondly, as far as i know i am not physically attracted to other males, thus i would have to overcome that lack of physical attraction in order to stay. So both those said, probably if i truely loved the person id stay, because love is love. But if it was anything short of "the one for me" love, id probably not stay

I can't answer this question as it would depend on the situation and what I actually saw in the SO in question, although I'd definitely like to think I'd stick by them while they were recovering from this heavily traumatic experience.

Napoleon, I'm sorry, but I have to ask - what would you do0 if you discovered your SO was infertile, or she became infertile while with you?

it would be a major issue as while i do believe and feel love i do know that the entire point of mating rituals is to have children, if there was no way for the two of us to generate children, i guess a possible thing to do would be to find an egg donor who most closely matches her intelligence level and other key factors to try to generate a child who could have been ours, even if not.
