Why the fuck is the safety system running windows and connected to the internet? :roll:

It should be running on some form of UNIX and disconnected from everything.

The article said the worm got in through a T-1 line that was not protected by a firewall. This is a clear example of why you need to do a periodic assesment of what is actually on your network.

My friends company found out that some employees somehow got an analog line installed in their office and where running FTP servers completely on the internet with no protection. Of course this breaches his iron security. Said employee's dont work there anymore.
