To anybody in the UK...

Post by Bug-Eyed Earl »

Does anybody in the UK know of the name of a comic strip that appeared in a British motorcycle mag in the late 80s/early 90s? I remember being in an airport as a kid and a British guy seated next to me and my mom gave me a bunch of those mags. The comics, of course, were what I liked best?

I remember one where the main character was fixing his bike, and the only place he could do it was the tub for some reason. He had the engine out and was working on it, when his mom came home. She came in, saw the mess and screamed. The scream itself took up a wholepanel, and their cat was in the corner of the panel, saying "God's teeth!"

Does this ring a bell?

Not even a tiny bicycle bell, I'm afraid.

I think you'll have to figure out which biking mag it was.

I thought the simple fact that a bike mag has a monthly comic would help one narrow it down.

Is there more than one with a comic?

*shrug* I don't read bike mags.
But most mags do have a strip:
Kerrang!, SFX, F1 weekly, all have strips.

Actually I stopped reading Kerrang! after their taste in music turned shit. (They said the only good thing about Alice Cooper was that he inspired Marilyn Manson)

And no, you have enough women (and men) in your life as it is :P

Did he have little wings on his helmet? If so it's Ogri and he was in any number of Bike Mags over th years. Do a Web search and you'll doubtless find more on him.

Hope that helps.

You only read SFX because of all the topless pictures of James Marsters and David Boreanz, admit it. :P

What comic strip does SFX have in it? Admitedly the Couch Potato is like a real-life comic book but other than that... :?

Actaully, I started reading it for David Duchovny, and staying on for Lucy Lawless and SMG so there :P

Back when I read it, it was Captain... thingy. That spaceship one....

*sigh* my brian is frazzled. But there was definitly a comic strip set in a spaceship. It was sketchily drawn and teh captain was a massive ego man.
