Tripe, brains, kidneys, liver, my mom's "meat"loaf (typically called "leftovers loaf" by my friends and I, for a reason. I seriously hate being attacked by my food.), filipino food, meatballs, garden/veggie burgers (I'm sorry, but green shit masquerading as meat is just not right, nor does it look or taste right), the cheap Thai food (don't ask, on a picture menu there was something that literally looked like chunky diarrhea on a plate), and a whole list of other stuff, but that should highlight the worst of it.
"Freak on a leash! Freak on a leash!"
Loathe though I may be to say these things about a part of my own heritage, I agree.TrailerParkJawa wrote:I think Phillipino food is one of the more unattractive menus out there. Just my personal opinion.
Specific examples: chicken's feet, balut: boiled duck embryos, a dish whose name I forgot that I believe is made with ox blood, another made with entrails (which include intestines), and various meats and fish which are essentially raw (they're stewed in vinegar instead of being cooked).
Those are all the ones I can think up off the top of my head; most of the other food is actually fairly nice looking (and tasting), if a little greasy.
Apologies in advance for making anyone's stomach turn.......
No conscience. No law. No stopping them....
....well, maybe a Happy Meal would do it.
Ka Anor needs test subjects!
I still think Furlings look like tribbles

chicken feet no matter how they do it ....
chicken testicles
toad legs
half alive fish (yes, still breathing)
whole bat soup (not in my country, but often see it on TV)
I've overcame my fear to hearts, intestine, liver, kidney (chicken, pig, cow, goose...never ate the boar ones)
bees and some sorta larvae are good though they look quite scary
side note: anyone ate chicken ASS before? you won't even suspect after you've finished the whole shishkebob of them

oysters.
Yes, i know what they're supposed to look like, but I've never seen one that doesn't look like a shapeless ugly blob.

In the looks departement, the traditional Finnish Easter dessert, called mämmi, is one of the worst.
Those are poor examples, I've yet to find a picture that would do it justice, but basically it looks like a pile of semi-solid shit. The looks of foreigners who are offered it without warning are truly hilarious, but it doesn't taste bad at all.

That's your opinion. I found it quite edible, but not spectacular in any way. Besides, I suppose there are differences between mämmis made with different recipes, since the two times I have eaten it, it tasted different both times. If the recipe is good, it's not bad at all, but then again, not everybody likes the same things.

Powdered rye malt, rye flour, molasses, water, some orange rind for flavoring and sugar.
Just type in mämmi on Google, it'll net you some 2500 hits and among the first twenty there must be at least half a dozen recipes for the stuff in English.
EDIT: Never mind, http://www.innernet.org/fma/recipes/mammi.html has the recipe and instructions for carrying them out.

Well, it traditionally requires milk as accompaniment, and adding some sugar is also customary. Of course, mämmi is usually an acquired taste.

Thanks it just reminded me of a show where the chef is preparing miso, but it's obviously different.Edi wrote:Powdered rye malt, rye flour, molasses, water, some orange rind for flavoring and sugar.

Well, it sounds tasty. Figured it had molasses from the dark color, like American Hasty Pudding. A similar dish, made with cornmeal.Edi wrote:Powdered rye malt, rye flour, molasses, water, some orange rind for flavoring and sugar.

I'll second innerbrat's opinion of oysters, even though I love 'em.
Have you ever seriously considered Pizza, though? Looks a little like someone got sick, when you think about it.....

Animal intestines, I think they were from pigs but I can't remember. Some wiseass in my family ordered them in Nepal for some reason, and well, I lost my apetite just looking at them. We all tried them anyways but it's not something I'd want to eat.
