Linkin park/ AOTC

I was just watching MTV 2 and they played the Pts. of Athrty (sp?) movie (final fantasy style) and when I thought about it, it looked alot like the battle scene from AOTC. Here are the similaritys I saw

flying metal guys- geonosians
things that looked like big droid carriers (the name eludes me) but only bigger
big landing ships that had troops/fliers coming out of it like the ones in AOTC

So what do you think? Did GL base they scene off of the music vid as the vid was out way before the movie, or am I just seeing things

I thought it felt a bit like it. One of the reasons I liked the video. It seemed more of a general sci-fi ground combat battle, though. I think it might've been based on RTS games in general.

I'm bad with dates, so I can't remember which came out first. I don't think it's likely either inspired the other, though, given production times. Most likely, technology simply allowed both to show similar ideas that were difficult to pull off before.

The movie was out before the video. Also, I doubt Lucas watches Mtv, much less Linkin Park.

Yeah, the movie came out a little under a month before the video, so neither is based on the other (the Linkin Park guys did all the design for the video, according to a story I heard on CTN). I didn't see that much similarity between the two, either. The AotC fight focused more on individual heroes and villains (Yoda, Dooku, Anakin), while the Pts of Athrty video was mass combat except for the last big guy fighting the tentacles. I don't think there's any connection between the two except the closeness of release dates, which is coincidence.

I meant only scenes, not the entire thing. like the landing things in the LP movie with the people and ships flying out of it look like the star destroyer type things (name?) landing and releasing the clone transports and the people coming out of it. and the people with metal wings look like the geonosians.

That's the one. You see troops and the gunships coming out of those in AOTC and you see the troops and planes coming out of the ones ind the LP vid.
