Now using 2.6 for normal usage

Post by Pu-239 »

Using it for normal usage, very responsive (and gets rid of sluggish/jerky mouse syndrome), as posted before. I'm using test2 vanilla, since test4 debian prints out error messages that scare me :P, and I don't feel like DLing test5 vanilla.

Everything seems to work fine, except for the misconfigured sound modules, which lack oss midi compatibility.

I can't open up any terminal emulator when using DevFS due to /dev/pts no longer being handled by devfs, and lazyness to compile in devpts (kernel compiles take forever).

I'm waiting to buy a hardware modem from Glocksman, since now I'm connnecting via the winbox upstairs, which is inconveniant.

nVidia drivers not compiled yet, since I will have to debianize them, which takes awhile, otherwise my directories will be filled with nonremovable crud, so I'm using the nv driver instead.

Suggest all linux users upgrade their experimental/nonimportant/semi-important with replacable data boxes to 2.6, NOW.

Did you remember to replace modutils with module-init-tools?
