Baldurs Gate 1....take Two ;)

Post by Keevan_Colton »

I wanted to let the others here that might be intrested in a little project I stumbled across, thanks to Coaan, concerning Baldurs Gate 1. It's a conversion to allow Baldur's Gate and Tales of the Sword Coast to be played using the upgraded engine from Baldur's Gate 2 : Shadows Of Amn. I thought that there might be a few here who'd get as much of a kick out of it as me, so here's a link

One thing I want to know, seeing as how I just recently finished BG1 again and imported over my character to continue the saga to BG2, is does it also include the nifty fixes so the hitpoint rolls when you level up are maximum etc? I was sick of quicksaving, leveling up, getting 2 hitpoints when I had 19 CON, then quickloading .... fark my character kicks arse though.

It's basically, the Baldurs Gate 1 plot, in the Baldur's Gate 2 engine, so level ups, spell effects, class abilities etc are all as in Baldur's Gate 2. I've only got as far as the bandit camp so far, but it is amazing.....though some of the classes can prove amazingly powerful.
Shapeshifter Druid for one....and Wild Mage for another

Or you can use the BG Trilogy mod. The difference between BGT and Tutu is that Tutu is much smaller, but it is a total conversion of BGII to BGI, so if you want to go play SoA you have to either uninstall Tutu or have another separate installation. BGT is a huge downloaded, and I don't think it is really finished yet, but it adds BGI to II so you can play the whole thing through as one continuous game.

Yeah, well, I havent tried it yet, but TuTu has a removal tool.....also, it kicks a very vast amount of ass for a 700k download, especially compared to the 700mb that is the BGT mod...
