....the goverments fault. Looking around online for an article, but a few minutes ago, I watched on the news a lady who weighs in around 800lbs

. Because of this, she qualifies under the Disability Act.

Anyway, she oddly enough, can seem to get around her state subsadized housing that well. So she lodged a complained against the housing office of Ohio (I think they said Ohio?).

The state is retrofitting a new free apartment for the chick, since a couple of months ago it appearently took 20 people (mostly paramedics) to get her out of her apartment so she could go to the doctor.

The kicker is that even though the Housing dept. is spending $ on this new and wider (litterally) aparment for her, she is still pursueing the complaint via the Disability Act and could end up costing the State even more in Federal fines.

My question, how much responsibility does this lady have to make her own pad bigger for herself? And as a tax payer, would you be pissed to both pay for her apartment and to pay for the fines that may be given because she feels the housing dept is not moving fast enough?

This reminds of the case where some 300-400 lbs guy broke a chair in a fast food resteraunt and is suing. Evidently he was injured. He said the resteraunt has a duty provide seating for people that big.

When do people have a duty to NOT BE THAT BIG! There are no people that big in countries where food is not litterally on every corner. It is one thing to say we can deny housing to someone who is 40 lbs overweight, but if you are the same weight as a family then its out of control.

How about instead of spending all of this money on her housing demands, why not just pay for liposuction do she doesn't have the mass of four men? But of course, she couldn't demand what she wanted if that weight was gone.

Put her on a treadmill with a twinkie suspended in front of her. She'll be dead of cardiac arrest in 10 minutes.

But seriously, she is (unfortunately) pursuing the rights that have technically been granted to her under the ADA. The problem is the excessively broad wording of the ADA and the literalist nature of the legal system.

It would be cheaper to make her get gastric bypass surgery and then have a dietician keep a very watchful eye on her for a year or more.

It probably wouldn't hurt if there was some Dr. Phil style ass chewing and but kicking as extra motivation.

But ain't that the kicker. If you force her to loose weight, I'm quite sure screams of persecution and discrimination would sound at a deafening roar. But some how it's the states responsibility to out fit her houch for an 800lbs woman.
