First Skate of the Year

Finally...it gets cold in Toronto and stays cold so that the local skating rinks open up. I just got back from skating with my GF's sister and her brother down at the local ice rink, yup, my skills are still good thanks to a summer of rollerblading but my ass hurts from the damn chick knocking me flat on the ice. Guess I shouldn't have made so many dead birdie jokes. Damn I miss ice skating, it's so much better than rollerblading because when you fall you don't end up bleeding all over the place. On the other hand it meant that we spent most of the time playing tag and trying to trip each other onto the ice, and we even staged a couple fake hockey fights for fun. Now I'm tired, and I think I pulled a groin muscle, but it was worth it. I can't wait to get a bunch of friends together so we can start playing ice hockey.
