it appears that good ol' Lord of the rings has just come first in the Big Read list on the BBC

i was routin for Hitch hikers but , meh the top five had 4 decent books and one shity love novel

so we have at

4) Hitch Hikers
3) His Dark Materials
2) boring love novel (Jane Eyre) :P

fnghghs, I even like Harry Potter, but it just feels so wrong to see it among such books. And Jane Eyre is actually a good novel, try reading it some time.

I'm disappointed in the end results, I can't believe LotR topped it even if it is as good as the die hard fans say, there were plenty of other classics there.

Actually just finished reading "Jane Eyre" for one of my classes. Despite some of the fundamentalism and the fact that it's a chick book, it was a very good read. I highly reccomend it.

Then again, my reccomendations are worth no more than a copy of the ICS is to a die-hard Trekkie....
