As Kucinich challenged Democratic front-runner Howard Dean for refusing to acknowledge that the Pentagon budget needs to be cut, debate moderator Neal Conan of NPR interrupted.

"Congressman Kucinich is holding up a pie chart, which is not truly effective on radio," Conan told his listeners

Kucinich could have been doing that as a jab at John "Demon-spawn" Kerry and Howard "Opie" Dean and that lady...whoever-she-is. Carol-ann "They're heeeerrre" Mosley or something...

Kucinich thinks he can win the Presidency through the moral purity of his cause. 'Nuff said.

I don't think he thinks he can win. I think he's in it more to get his ideas out there and such, same as most extremist fringe candidates.

I dunno. I think he's just delusional enough to think he can win.

Having duped their willing accomplices in the media and (they think) all of you idiots in America, they turn for the money shot - and suddenly the vertically challenged Democrat front-runner is as tall and imposing looking as the former NBA superstar endorsing him.

Because he's taking a very basic staging trick (namely, using a podium to make up a nine-inch height difference) and blowing it up into something important (which it's not). Throw in attack language ("duped", "willing accomplices," "idiots in America") and score cheap points. Basic and extremely transparent propaganda tricks that make it very obvious that Rush is well off his game and trying to fling doody at a successful political candidate.

I think the language that Limbaugh uses at the end of the article tells a LOT more about the powerful conservative's view of the average American than it could EVER say about liberals.

I wonder if Rush Limbaugh thinks that President Rooseveldt tried to "dupe" the "idiots in America" by taking great pains to always have photographs of him from the waste up or sitting with the person the photo-op was with in order to disguise the fact that he was wheelchair bound? I mean, god, the nerve of the "willing accomplaces" in the media to permit such a thing...

Theski, grow up. Limbaugh is trying to make a mountain of a mole hill here. Sadly, it seems to have convinced you that this is a big deal.

OH you mean like the Liberals think about the rest of us..
What can explain his popularity? Can that many people be enamored of what he has accomplished in Iraq? Of how he has fortified our constitutional freedoms with the USA Patriot Act? Of how he has bolstered our economy? Of how he has protected our environment? Perhaps they've been impressed with the president's personal integrity and the articulation of his grand vision for America?

Is that likely?

Granted, there are certain subsections of the American polity that have substantially benefited from this presidency. Millionaires and charismatic Christians have accrued either material or spiritual fortification from Bush's administration. But surely these two groups are a small minority of the population. What, then, can account for so many people being so supportive of the president?

The answer, I'm afraid, is the factor that dare not speak its name. It's the factor that no one talks about. The pollsters don't ask it, the media don't report it, the voters don't discuss it.

I, however, will blare out its name so that at last people can address the issue and perhaps adopt strategies to overcome it.

It's the "Stupid factor," the S factor: Some people -- sometimes through no fault of their own -- are just not very bright.

Yep... Just what I thought.....

Its amazinig that the pill popping liar has any credibility left at all. The right, most recently in Sean Hannity has spent decades treating drug addicts like they are scum, weak willed, choosing to live that life style, etc. Suddenly one of their icons is a pill queen and we don't hear about it anymore. If you bring it up you're labeled a Rush Hater with an axe to grind (pretty funny considering the levels that some right wing pundits have stooped during the height of the Clinton scandals.) That fat peice of shit should just wither away and vanish from sight.
Wherever you go, there you are.

I pointed out that he's not very entertaining anymore. You're the one who got defensive first, theski.

If you weren't serious, then you were posting flamebait, which I admit isn't as bad as listening to Rush Limbaugh, but does mean you have no right to complain when people busts your chops over it, since you had it coming..

He is boring, he hasn't been really entertaining for years now. As far as conservative talk show hosts go, I only listen to Neal Boortz and would listen to Larry Elder if he were syndicated down here.

I heard that debate. I had never, ever heard Carol Mosely (or whatever her name is) speak before, and I had never even heard of her, but I instantly guessed her size, gender, ethnicity, and political background, all correctly, I might add.
