Did they just admit to trying to rig the poll?

A right-wing conservative religious group conducting a biased poll? Say it ain't so!HemlockGrey wrote:"It represented something other than what we wanted it to represent."

In any case, I'm glad that we finally got this straightened out. It looks like Gay Marriage is bound to be a bigger loser for Bush in November then anything else, so Bush won't get his silver bullet after all.
I guess Bush and his cronies will have to go back to attacking the Democrats credibility on national security and class warfare issues, and I have a feeling that those are already starting to wear thin on the non-frothing moderates.

No wonder the rabid conservatives are going nuts for an amendment to the constitution, give it a decade and we're gonna have enough popular support to force an amendment...On Jan. 6, the Gay.com/PlanetOut.com Network discussed the AFA poll with expert Bob Witeck, who said that since it was not a scientific survey, its results could not be considered meaningful data. According to Witeck, legitimate polls show support for gay marriage somewhere between 40 to 50 percent -- and growing.

So, basically, the AFA decided to present a deceptive, non-scientific poll of their own members (who are conservative and anti-gay) to Congress as if it were a representative sample, and they're now complaining because somebody else (actually several somebodies else) decided to ruin their fun.

Yes, we did, if you believe a few hundred people at most voting in favor of gay marriage can somehow significantly skew a poll with hundreds of thousands of votes.kojikun wrote:Yeah, it wasnt the gay rights groups that skewed the result, SDN did it, din' we?DPDarkPrimus wrote:More like the results weren't what they wanted.

While your correct, in theory, in practice you make a mistake, because these sort of things have an impact, if even one member of the Senate or Congress had thought it compelling evidence it would have done it's job. Those fence sitters who are leaning one way but need an excuse for example, so these was a great piece of Sabotage and Congratulations are due to anyone who helped to ruin this example of hate.TheDarkling wrote:It was an online poll; I doubt it truly reflects the opinion of America as a whole, although the 40% support and growing in proper polls is encouraging.
So yes those denziens of SDnet who helped do deserve some praise well done to all of you. (I never knew about it, so my praise is completly unbiased.)
