I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

If you're going to commit suicide, do it right. It's less painful.

I'll take you up on that bet, if you loose, will you jump off a bridge?Alex Moon wrote:I'll bet you twenty bucks he tries again.

Alright, that was just wrong. And on an unrelated note, I hate people I don't like reading over my shoulder.

Thank goodness for that, I see 'loose' so often at the minute, I was seriously starting to doubt whether I'd been spelling it right all these years...Admiral Valdemar wrote: *snip image*

That's one advantage to living in Vancouver. We got a bridge (The Lion's Gate), that will treat you to a 500 ft plunge if you take the time to walk over to the middle of it. I've haven't heard of anyone ever surviving.Darth Yoshi wrote:If you're going to commit suicide, do it right. It's less painful.
Even with such a bridge, we still get inconsiderate assholes who decide instead to jump in front of a skytrain (Vancouver's mostly above ground metro system) which is a little less certain, a lot more messier and really screws up the commute for hundreds of people.
If your a more outdoors type and don't mind driving a bit to Squamish, the Chieften features a cliff face that is pretty much 100% lethal to fall off of. Of course the drive up to Squamish might kill you as well as it is one of Canada's most lethal stretches of road.
If you want to end it all, Vancouver's one the best places to do it.

Or, you could be like the Pennsylvania man who drove to West Virginia simply to jump off the New River Gorge Bridge.... and not on Bridge Day, or with a parachute.Korvan wrote:That's one advantage to living in Vancouver. Yes, 860ft to the river is a very nasty fall, and chances are you're dead or dying before you hit.... if you're lucky you might hit the water. If you're unlucky the CSI squad is wiping you off the rocks with a sponge.
Total suicides off the Bridge so far? 27.

If I wanted to kill myself by jumping off a bridge, I'd do it in Sydney. They have this cool Bridge climb thingy there where you can go to the very top of the bridge and see the entire city. They try their best to make it absolutely safe, of course, but if I got on a climb with a big group and kind of lingered at the back, then took off my security gear... it wouldn't be easy, but it would be flashy.
