In a rare publicly-released statement from his holding cell somewhere in Iraq, former president Saddam Hussein condemned the widespread corruption of the "oil for food" program during his time in power and denied that he had any personal involvement. His comments came in the wake of revelations that his regime had squirreled away billions for itself while ordinary Iraqis received expired medicines and substandard rations.
"I am mad as hell that some people did this," said Hussein. "I am mad that there are some people who clearly perverted what should have been a government program that should have done a lot of good. I am very mad that some people may have enriched themselves, and I am very determined to get to the bottom of this and punish those who were involved."
Well, tyrannic as he was, Saddam Hussein really wanted the best he could get for his country. But, as we all know, the road to hell is paved with good intentions...

Acutally since he's being held as a POW with the Red Cross in the loop he should be able to write letters to his family. However I think this is just the newbie failing at making a joke.
