Could anyone use the general data like star maps that are in the jedi archives? What do you think?

I don't see why the data wouldn't be available elsewhere.

I doubt they let others in though.

At least in the case of starmaps it's said in AOTC:ICS that only the jedi and the tradefeds have good starmaps.

I think they give you a datapad with info need insted leting you access to the archives by yourself

I doubt that they would allow non-Jedi random unsupervised access to the Starmaps, although I could see them charge a small fee to provide research on a particular area of space. A sort of way to bring finance to the Jedi Temple.

I think so also since the jedi starmaps have things that the jedi don't want the general public to know (like the location of the valley of the jedi).
