go to DOS.

Type Format C:/
You'll be asked twice if you're sure you want to do this, iirc.

Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

If this is your primary hard drive you should run the format command from a boot disk. Don't forget to back up your data first!

If you are wanting to format another drive, you can do it through the Windows GUI.

If you have a Windows 2000 disk, you can boot from CD Rom and format y our drive in the process of installing the OS.

If it's a freshly-bought drive, you have to partition it first also.

If it's your primary disk, format it with the installation program of the OS you're installing. If it's a secondary disk then just partition and format it normally. Either way, it depends on your OS.

If its a non-primary partition, I use partition magic, if its a primary and I wish to change it (I never do it), I'll either use the windows CD tool, if its for an install, or the Knoppix utility.
