Cannot save pics the usual way (click and save as)...

Post by Elheru Aran »

OK, here it is. I'm using AOL 7.0, running on a "Young Teen" setting (my little sister's account... mine has a timer... paranoid parents, that's all i'll say) on a phone line that averages between 38-41 kbs speed.

Whenever I try to save a picture by left-clicking and selecting "save as", it gives me two formats to save in: .bmp and .art. Wellllll.... I select .bmp... but it doesn't show in the pictures folder!!!!!!!! Then I select .art... and it comes up as a Corel PhotoPaint file-- but Corel can't open the damn thing.

PS-- the folder i'm trying to save to is on the desktop instead of the "My Pictures" folder-- that make any difference?

Helps? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Considering it only gives him .bmp and .art as options, it sounds like he's using AOL's internal browser (assuming it's still there as of 7.0...I dumped AOL 8 years ago) or accessing proprietary AOL conent.
Try using IE instead or finding a non-proprietary-AOL-content source for your image.
