So I've had this problem in Windows, when I shut down. You guys are super uber genius's at the shit so......
When I shut down, DelveD does not respond and needs to periodically be 'end task' to shut down.
WTF is it, and how to I end this tedious thing?
(might be wrong on the program name, but its something like that.)

What windows do you use? (i.e. xp, 2000, 9x)
If its xp then see who created the program, a user or the system. (ctrl+alt+del then find the program you're talking about and see what name is beside it). If its a user thing, then its probably spyware and you should find the .exe file creating it and delete it (a file search usually accomplishes this). If you use 9x not sure how to determine what it is, but if it keeps crashing and your system is still running fine it can't be that important.

Download Spybot 1.3 and Ad-Aware 6, update both off the internet with their internal updaters, run scans on both. If that doesn't fix it, download HijackThis (1.98.0 is the latest, right? Someone back me up on that?) and post the log it creates up on here for people (admittedly probably Einy, but hey, a couple others have the knowledge

to tell you what to delete. All those programs should be easily found via the wonders of Google. 98 percent of the time that sort of error is spyware/adware, but also make sure you have up-to-date antivirus software and run a scan with that. There's always a chance it's a conflict with some legit software, but even if all this doesn't fix that, chances are it'll clean up a lot of other crap. Oh, and when you run Spybot, once you update it, make sure you also use the Immunize function to plug security holes.

I've run a spybot check and did the deed on it. This problem procests after it. Though, I'd admit I'm a novice at this shit so I might have fucked it up. I deleated what spy bot said, or so I thought, so thats why I've come to you smarty pants.
I'm at a loss at this point.

Nothing spybot deletes will ruin your system. It'll only help it. However if you're one to use programs like grokster or imesh, then spybot won't help because those programs won't run without the spyware (making you pay money per year to them to keep spyware off you system. Does anyone remember when people just gave you part of the software and then you paid for the rest if you liked what you saw?)

Um... doesn't Knife usually talk more neatly and less cursing... "smarty pants", "shit", "procests", "super uber genius's at the shit"... did someone hijack the account?

Actually, checking my post history for the night, I've consumed much rum and beer tonight, allowing me to expose such a weakness. Plus, cursing isn't exactly a problem for me though, I'm usually better spoken than this (I hope) my spelling and gramer is usually suspect.

AdAware and others catch things SpyBot doesn,t just as Spybot catches some things they don't...run more than one and you should be able to catch the leakers. HijackThis is a good way to finish off, but THAT requires a higher level of knowledge, so if it comes to that, just post the log up here and the storm of techs on this board will tell ya what to whack
