I'm just experimenting with some ideas to display the ships roster of an RPG I play... just wondered what some of you might think of my first foray into creating an LCARS style display etc
I think it looks great. The LCARS color scheme doesn't seem quite right tho, and you might want to use some texture to the panels (if metal) or a more plastic look otherwise.
Hey, Thanks Yeah I hadn't thought of playing around with textures on the padd's themselves, I'll have a go with that. The LCARS scheme I've used is the one that appeared in Nemesis, browns and purples... I don't like the pastels of Voyager and the oranges of TNG series are... sickly, IMHO
LCARS are more solid colors than gradients, and the PADDs should be a little bigger. Also, I think the corners are a bit too rounded, but otherwise you've got a solid idea going here.

I like the PADDs as they are now. The while the ones on the show are more square and use solid colors, like Dalton pointed out, they seem to be stuck in 8-bit land. Surely the future has at least 16-bit color! And the rounded corners look very nice. The only thing I would change would be display screens - those should be more square, giving the user more display real estate.
