Harpoon 3: Super cool, or cumbersome with details?
Just curious. I know the Harpoon series has been out on tabletop for awhile, and I think I have the first edition somewhere around. It definitely seemd like it was right up the ally of modern naval warfare ubergeeks, and I was just wondering if the computer version of it held up well. Is it good? Are there better naval games out there?

I just wasted a SSGN load of SS-N-9 SIREN missiles on a freaking transport

I guess that's the down side of "Get there firstest with the mostest." Unless you're a true believer in overkill, you might shoot off too damn much. How well does the game handle submarine ops?MKSheppard wrote:I just wasted a SSGN load of SS-N-9 SIREN missiles on a freaking transport

Harpoon 4 for the PC got canned after years of advertising it and fan expectations. And unlike the earlier Harpoon games, Harpoon 4 was going to be an attempt to make the game similar to Janes Fleet Command, only funner and more realistic.TrailerParkJawa wrote:Did they ever release Harpoon 4? I remember a single Kirov battlegroup (Kirov, one Udaloy, two Krivaks) that shot down 96 harpoons in one of my games.MKSheppard wrote:I just wasted a SSGN load of SS-N-9 SIREN missiles on a freaking transport
Then I called the aircraft back and attacked again. And they shot down all those harpoons - again.
I thought I was fucking dreaming

I've noticed that Russians like to shoot down lots of incoming missiles. It seems you have to bum rush them with a shitload of firepower to really make a mark....PeZook wrote:I remember a single Kirov battlegroup (Kirov, one Udaloy, two Krivaks) that shot down 96 harpoons in one of my games.MKSheppard wrote:I just wasted a SSGN load of SS-N-9 SIREN missiles on a freaking transport
