I mean, arn't healers like this basically screwing there patients already? Might as well go that extra yard
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

How could it be rape? She consented for the first one and rejected the second proposition. Sure, it's got a hint of deceit, but she knew she would have sex with the guy.

Guy: "I'm gonna smear magic gunk on my dick and stick it into your vagina."

Gal: "Okay. I guess that's okay, Mr. Witchdoctor."

Next week...

Gal: "It's not working."

Guy: "I might have to do it again."

Gal: "Holy shit!!!@#$%*&!!! I just realized that now and that your witchdoctor medicine is a pile of BS and we actually had sex when applying this BS medicine! Rape! Rape! Rape!!!!! AAAARRRGGHHH!!!"

EDIT:

Besides, she wasn't overpowered or forced to it or whatever. She knew and agreed to having a penis smeared in gunk to be placed in her vagina.

A hint of deceit? The man made up a huge pile of bullshit just to take advantage of a distraut and emotionally vulnerable woman. Depending on whether you believe coercion to be a factor in considering consent, it may or may not be rape in the strictest sense, but it's using a position of power to exploit fuck knows how many woman for sex.

Legally though, the situation is a bit of a question mark... there would need to be more details provided. The definition of rape is a big issue.

ya know. . . .not to sound like an unsympathetic ass or anything, but the woman should have clearly realized that wiping his cock in magic goop and rubbing it on her vagina was an obvious scam. It shouldn't take any more than 2 brain cells to put that together for most reasonably intelligent people, emotionally distraught or otherwise. It's not like she was under the influence of drugs or anything. Is the guy a deceitful scumbag? sure. Did she get raped? doubtful at best.

Its called ignorance. When you believe in magic, it makes believing things like this easier. The witch doctor was playing on the ignorance of his patients in order to take advantage of them. This is clearly rape. He had her trust and misused it for his own purposes.

This is known as coercion. If you coerce someone into sex by means of lying or threatening, it's not considered any different from forcing sex on that person, from a legal point of view.

But still, this woman was a fucking idiot.

I could see this thing happening between 10 or 11-year-olds, where little Jane comes running home, yelling "Mommy, Mommy, cousin Johnny gave me a love-potion but I don't think it's working," but that woman is about as stupid as that German couple who couldn't get a pregnancy started because they didn't know about sexual intercourse.

Witch Doctors don't believe in what they spout. They understand what they have is power over people and they pass it on to people who will continue the tradition of power.

That then brings up the arguement of the definition of "lying". If you say you're a rich stock market agent, get laid, and then she finds out you're a construction worker, does that mean she can call rape?

This is why it's more difficult than you think, and while I don't agree with it, the legal sense is very backwards. When I get back from class, I'll transcript an account from my textbook.

That's different. If a guy tells a girl that he's a rich stock market agent, he does so to make himself more appealing. Whether or not the victim believes the lie has no direct bearing on whether or not intercourse actually occurs.

What this witch doctor fellow did was say, "It is necessary for me to have sex with you in order for this to work." In this case, if the victim believes the lie, then it has a direct bearing on whether intercourse occurs.

Let him rot. I just hope their laws consider the 'coercion' part of rape...

This reminds me of the Darwin award winner in Africa who bought a potion from a witch doctor who promised him that it would make him bulletproof. The guy tested this potion ... by having his friends shoot him in the chest with their AK-47s.

Naturally, that was the last of him. But his friends evened up the score by hunting down the witch doctor and killing him in revenge. Two stories of stupidity: the imbecile who tested a bulletproof potion by having his friends shoot him in the chest and the witch doctor who didn't skip town after getting paid by the kind of people who really don't like it when a deal goes sour.

While I feel bad about it, I would vote to acquit the guy if I were on a jury. It's dispicable, underhanded, and wrong. But the dumbass agreed to it. Seriously, at the time, she really wanted to have sex with Mr. Witchdoctor here. For all the wrong reasons, of course, and the under circumstances that were shady as hell, but it was ENTIRELY voluntary. Coercion is no part of it. Coercion implies forcing her to do something. He used the power of his position to make a suggestion that she accepted like a fool. This is nothing more than a very elaborate, very FUCKED-UP example of morning-after regrets, and while the guy is an ass, he is not guilty of any crime.

In a civil suit, however, I would make the guy pay every dime me might ever own.

I think in some places you can be charged with rape if you get a woman to sleep with you by promising marriage and then back out.

That's not really true. Many witch doctors and such do believe in magic and that they have special powers. (not the ones who have 1-900 lines) If I was investigating this case, I'd ask other Witch Doctors if this was standard practice and if it wasn't than bust the guy.

The laws concerning rape are convulted and work against the favor of the victim.

For example, for something to be rape in Kentucky, there must be "forcible compulsion", meaning "physical force that overcomes earnest resistance or a threat, express or implied, that overcomes earnest resistance by placing a person in fear of immediate death or physical injury to himself or another person or in fear that he or another person will be immediately kidnapped".

Also, without force or threat of force by the person sexually assaulting the victim, there oftentimes is no rape.

Keep in mind this is not my opinon, these are how the laws are written.

No she didn't. She wanted the aphrodisiac to work, and believed for this to be achieved she had to have sex with him.
Same thing as any other doctor told her that to fix her ailness, she'd have to sleep with him. Rape stay rape.
but it was ENTIRELY voluntary.
He used the power of his position to make a suggestion that she accepted
because he claimed it was neccessary to fix her problem.
See above. She was stupid(or at the very least very ill-educated) to believe it. Doesn't mean it wasn't coercion. He used his authority as a 'doctor' to coerce her into it.
This is nothing more than a very elaborate, very FUCKED-UP example of morning-after regrets
I was not aware those situation automatically involved doctors telling their patients sleeping with them would cure her illness. Under our law that's classified as 'rape', you know.
You may replace 'doctor' with 'priest' and 'curing illness' with 'saving her soul', it that suits you better.
and while the guy is an ass, he is not guilty of any crime.
Like hell he isn't. He abused his position of power over her. Coercion. Thus rape.

So would you acquit a priest of criminal charges if he told an 8 year-old altar boy that submitting to sexual molestation would earn him favor in Heaven?
