And now for something completely different

Post by Col. Crackpot »

Don't get me wrong, there are many more trek vs wars to be fought. But for a moment, let us digress. We are running dangerously close to turning trek vs. wars into...shall we say...old hat. To keep that from becoming reality lets focus briefly, at least partially, on something diferent. Perhaps this debate has raged before, but i'm a newbe, i'm allowed to be ignorant for a while. I would like to know what everyone would think about a balls to the wall slugfest between an Imperial task force....say half a dozen ISD II's vs an equal number of those nasty looking Shadow crab ships from Babylon 5. Anyone care to shae thoughts?

but i really don't think it would be as easy as anything from the Trek universe. I think its safe to say that the Shadows are the only real threat to the empire in the entire realm of sci-fi

There are a lot worse things out there than the Shadows...

The Tyranids (imo) would do more damage than the Shadow, and thats just my opinion...

There are lots of sci-fi races that would kick the Empire's ass...

The shadows shit themselves when Sheridan nuked their home planet...hardly a trait Id attribute to an all-powerful-ISD-blitzing-race...

(yes I know the Empire would probably be messed up if Courscant went bang, but it just seemed weak to me)

The Shadows are vulnerable to psi powers, anyone with Force powers will disrupt the link between the ship and the "brain".

From babtech-onthe.net, they say Shadow shield hava maximum output of 60 Mtons. Well, if ISD HTL can do 200 Gtons...

I don't know, the calculations are made for the episode "Army of Light".

You know, there's a forum called "Other Sci-Fi" where there are a lot of debates of SW vs B5. The reason this forum might seem too stale to you, because everything is about Star Wars vs Star Trek is because the forum is called "Star Wars vs Star Trek". So just go over the forum index and try clicking on the other link, if you get bored of the old hat.

Those are Medium guns not Heavy Guns

Yes we don't know what the Heavy or Light Weapons on a ISD are but we DO know the Mediums of a twenty year old Transport are over 200 Gigatons each and able to fire one every 2 seconds

bah the shadows are weaklings compared to most other sci-fi races.
WH40K galaxy vs SW galaxy would make a good fight (which would probably result in the extermination of 99.9% of all life in both galaxies)

I had the impression it was when he was hearing some plan by Baldrick and then Stephen Fry, or someone else, said the same plan. I'm almost certain that came from the series, of course he could have used it afterwards. Anyway, wise words... Oh, wait... 8)

Guys, the observed firepower of an SPK is equivalent (at best) to an ISD. How the hell can a battlecrab stand a chance against them, one on one?

Bolding Mine.

You haven't read/seen much science fiction, have you?

There are many universes that would wipe the floor with the Empire.

Hell, I think even the OVA and TV1 Tenchi Muyo! universes might even be able to take on the Empire.
