Re my hippie mother after her Arlo Geuthery concert in Berkley:
The Bear's hippie mother wrote:Arlo was playing with a Jewish group called the Klezmatics. Arlo's sister
who is overseeing Woodie's estate had found some lyrics that had never been
published. One group of lyrics were Jewish spiritual songs from his time
with Arlo's mother, who was Jewish. She's been trying to get the
unpublished lyrics to appropriate musical artists to put them to song and
make them public. She chose the Klezmatics for some or all of the Jewish
lyrics.
It was really a very interesting concert. In Berkeley. And right after the
election results. It was nice to be sitting in a mostly liberal
environment. And the performance was really good.
Happy New Year. Love, Mom
Also, this would indicate new folk tunes from the late Woodie G. may soon be available
also I am not sure what Isreal's reaction to folk tunes by a known athiest political activist in Hebrew.
The scariest folk song lyrics are "My Boy Grew up to be just like me" from cats in the cradle by Harry Chapin
Interesting bit of news there, babe. I'm making a mix CD right now that has a Guthrie on it, but it's got Arlo, not Woody. Still, interesting stuff man.
Oh, and since this is a music topic, am moving it to AMP.
