Austrian Court jails 'ghost'
INNSBRUCK, Austria (AP) -- A Polish woman who harbored a grudge against her husband's employer has been sentenced to four months' imprisonment for terrorizing the boss by making ghostly sounds at his castle-like estate.
The 42-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was convicted on nuisance charges after she allegedly spent weeks masquerading as a ghost and making mysterious noises, Austrian television reported.
Police captured the woman on videotape after the jittery owner, who employed the suspect's husband, begged authorities in the alpine province of South Tyrol to solve the mystery.
The haunted owner had complained of hearing footsteps in the hallways and slamming doors late at night at the estate near Austria's southern border with Italy.
It was unclear why the Polish woman had become angry.
Boooooo!

And I would have gotten away with it....if it wasn't for those meddling kids!

And she would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for those meddling kids and that stupid dog!
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!
Grrr! Fight my Brute, you pansy!

How strange... and yet absolutely amusing. This is why it's still worth it to check the news.
Wooooo.... WooooOOOooo!

"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

I'll let that poor history slip if you can convince the Italians to actually hand over that "consolation prize".HemlockGrey wrote:Consolation prize for getting successively smashed by the Prussians, the Italians, and the Allies.
That being said: Just because it's customary to report happenings in South Tyrol as "domestic" in Austria doesn't mean that CNN should not know that it's actually Italian

I was unaware of the status of Southern Tyrol, but perhaps you might care to correct me on my history?I'll let that poor history slip if you can convince the Italians to actually hand over that "consolation prize".
I mean, ok, I understand that "smashed" may not be the best word to use when discussing the Italians fighting anyone since the fall of the Roman empire.

Unless, of course, it's in the context of "The Italians GOT smashed".

Simple: Italy doesn't belong in there.
They were losing in 1866 (the date of "Prussia smashes Austria"), and didn't do anything important until 1915, which probably already counts as "Allies smash Austria" (you can still talk your way out of it, and make me look bad, by saying "No, that'd be the Entente, I was talking about the bombing campaigns in WWII").
(Which would open the question how much Italy actually contributed to WWI...)

Well, they still wound up winning territorial gains from Austria even after unification, but, like I said, I don't suppose that really counts as *smashed*, but it was certainly a blow.
Just trying to salvage the little military dignity Italy possesses.
