Beam me up, Mr Speaker

Post by Publius »

The Americans' House of Representatives recently voted (with an overwhelming majority) to expel Mr James Traficant, Jr, the Democratic Representative from the 17th Congressional District of the State of Ohio -- only the second time since the American Civil War that a Congressman has been expelled from the body. Both parties voted to expel him, with only one Representative voting against the resolution: Mr Gary Condit, who will also be presently vacating his seat.

Even in his last moments on the floor of the House, Mr Traficant retained his famed sense of humour, although he was rather better behaved than was his wont in the past. He even went so far as to say that he knew all the other Representatives wished they could wear wider-legged trousers like he, but lacked the self-security to do so.

As a point of fact, Mr Traficant is still on the upcoming ballot for the 17th Congressional District, running on an independent ticket -- despite a recent conviction of ten felony counts.

So, will Mr Traficant be elected, despite his expulsion? Will he be incarcerated? Questions? Comments? Observations?

Sadly, many politicians deserve to be in jail, but aren't.

I direct your attention to my hometown of Buffalo, where kickbacking, moneygrabbing city council member James Pitts cries racism (he's black) everytime the rest of the council votes against him.

This sonuvabitch, and others like him, are what's killing my city. We have a massive waterfront on lake Erie which could easily double our city's income.......but it remains weeds because no business is willing to pay the "fees" Pitts and his buddies require.

And thus, I have demonstrated my hate of career polititians.

Some criminals actually get free college education in jail, which is bullshit, but anyways one of the more popular degrees is being a lawyer. That way they can represent themselves next time they break the law.
