How many of you people out there have picked this one up. I'm enjoying it greatly, and am wondering if there are any of the old ASVS regulars who'd be interested in running a few missions or some PVP action. Look me up on Marcus Bane or Delak Mcbeath and I'll get you an invite into the Lump Club.

I'm slowly grinding my way through the missions with my W/Mo main and getting the occasional point of fame (makes Guild Halls cheaper) with my Me/W and W/Mo PvP characters.

Just picked this up because I was tired of not knowing what this 'Online RPG' thing was all about. Okay...so it's the lite version of an online RPG.
Although I'll admit I'm lost. And a little despondent; I'm surrounded by people with names like "Jenna Jameson" and "Tank Buttkicker" and not one of them capitalizes text. And the worst part is, I'm surprised by this.
Getting out of the mix of lurching zombines yelling 'u want prty?' at me and into the actual play areas, however, is fun. All I need now is to find the 'guild of adults who spell correctly' and I'm off to the races.

Such guilds are few and far between in my experience, though they are there. I kick around with my guild of three right now because I'd rather have a small, intelligent guild than a medium-sized kiddie guild.

Vent is more fun, and we can either open up our own 16 man server, or piggy back on my clans server.Captain tycho wrote:I'm all for it. We could also use a Teamspeak server...Ace Pace wrote:How about we create a SDN guild? I'll be picking up Gunbound next week.

I suppose not. I don't necessarily *care* what people call themselves, but I can't really play with people whose intelligence is suspect. Unless they're on the other team and I'm kicking their ass, of course.InnocentBystander wrote:The developers never heard of name filters or something?Lagmonster wrote:I'm surrounded by people with names like "Jenna Jameson" and "Tank Buttkicker" a

They've made it so the majority of your skills are gained from quests throughout the whole game. Only a small handful come from the skill trainers now, and elite skills have to be grabbed off of bosses with the Signet, which is now gained from a quest in Lion's Arch.

Crap, I have a lot of exploring to do. I'm still wandering around outside the kingdom where you start off, killing little things for cash and occasionally trying to complete the quests you get at the beginning. There's only one or two I haven't done, but the one I can think of is this guy who tells me that once I take his quest I can't come back to this area and I keep worrying I'll miss something if I leave before I find everything.

You've probably run into bosses before, they're just the guys with color-coded auras (orange = Warrior, purple = Mesmer, etc). I wouldn't worry too much about tutorial-Ascalon stuff, there's not much there once you have your main skills. The cash is much, much better in Ascalon proper anyways.Lagmonster wrote:Bosses?
