Help with Firefox please

I recently changed from vanilla mozilla to firefox and it was working great for a while but i logged on to my computer lastnight and ALL my book marks are gone. Is there anyway to get them back? I had over 100 bookmarks and i'll never remember them all.

Did you overwrite Mozille with Firefox or use a new directory? I always make backups of my bookmarks as an HTML file frequently to avoid this kind of thing.

I'd upgraded to Firefox over a week ago and my bookmarks transfered ok. it was only last night that they dissapeared, along with my homepage and all my saved passwords.
