Jedi Purge Survival Game

Post by SAMAS »

Inspired by the scene in RotS after the Yoda/Palpatine fight where the Emperor's aide says that if there's no body, then they're not dead, and rumors that Aayla Secura somehow managed to survive getting Rodney King'ed via blaster:

Going by the Jedi we know, who could've possibly survived the Jedi purge, and how?

Between the graphic novel and the movie, all the Jedi who survived up to that point got waxed, other than some one-shot bit characters and cases like Kieran Halcyon.

Some might have been missed, the Clones didn't seem to do a very good job. And we know that some made it out. But over all, if they got whacked they probably got whacked.

I know it sucked to see the hot twi-lek chick die but she's dead. Just get Playboy if you want consolation.

Jedi known to survive after the end of episode 3 include the Dark Woman, a few Jedi Masters, and the man that would become the High Inquisitor of the Empire

the Jedi Master in charge of teaching advanced hiding techniques

If he was leading clone troopers, it wold definitely be a black-op, and the clonetroopers would probably not have been wearing armor, because of his insistence that "armor makes you easier to hit", etc.

So the troopers never receive Order 66, and when he senses the death of so many Jedis, he goes into hiding.

Tremayne. Jerec also, according to the Dark Side Sourcebook, and a half-dozen other Jedi that he corrupted.

Nitpick: Do you mean Nejaa Halcyon? Keiran Halcyon, Corran Horn's alias notwithstanding, lived and nearly 150 years before the Clone Wars.

Elegos A'kla's uncle (I forget his name) survived until Alderaan became a dust cloud.

Something interesting.. Jerec's six Dark Jedi were never Jedi. :?

Of course but they were presumably trained in a corrupted version of the Jedi tradition rather than that of the Sith. So it would be the proper one.

I wonder if anyone here, knowing exactly what will happen in the StarWars Galaxy, would be able to survive if they were a Jedi...

Quite simple, hide on Tatooine. That planet holds a part of Vader's past he would never wish to relive, hence the reason Luke and Obi-wan could go undetected for so long. And when the Imperials finally come, chasing Leia? Camp in the desert for a few days until the Falcon has left. Doing anything else would most likely end up with you on the wrong side of Vader's saber.

So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause...
-Padme Amidala during the Formation of the Empire
I know Lucas borrowed that. From one of the accounts or stories about Julius Caesar; I want to say The October Horse but that sounds wrong.

DAH: Made me forget what I meant to say orginally. She's dead and so are all the Jedi we saw. I know she's hot but jeez, she's freaking dead. She got it with a bunch of blasters set to "Pwned!".

And for simple story reasons it would rob the film of much of it's purpose if the Jedi shown didn't die. It would be a horrific cheat and with out any real sense to it either. At least with Boba Fett he was minor enough that his death could be reversed with out schewing the plot too much. But this, it just goes against the whole intent of it.

Personally, I don't give a damn about Aayla Secura. She was interesting, yes, but mostly because of her relationship with Kit Fisto.

Now, THERE was a guy I shed a tear over when he got cut down. I'm still wondering how Anakin failed to see his body and those of the other two Jedi Palpatine killed...I know he's probably just stone-dead, though.

I'd give Shaak Ti even odds to survive, depending on a) whether or not Anakin found her in the Temple, and b) her state of recovery from her wounds at Grievous' hands. She'd probably be intelligent enough to try to escape unnoticed rather than engaging the clone troopers, but she might have been too injured to do so.

Luminara Unduli and Barriss Offee are the two Jedi I'd be willing to give the best odds on survival, at least past the first murderous days. They fought in tandem - a very nice style when it comes to defense, protecting each other's backs - and Barriss Offee was also a healer, so if they managed to escape the first assault, they'd probably be able to recover from whatever wounds they sustained while hiding or running.

Out doing a company or more of clonetroopers? I doubt any of the Jedi survived that. Certainly there's little evidence for it in that Obi-Wan and Yoda believed everyone accounted for the hard way.

Hey, Obi-wan survived. We never saw Luminara and Barriss die, or even fight on-screen; they may not have been with their clone-troops when the order was given. However, they were potent enough to be two of the Jedi survivors in AotC; that implies at least a high defensive ability possessed by the two of them.

Only because he came in later. Like when the place wasn't crawling with the newest Sith Lord and his posse of angry clones. It might not have been a walk in the park but it was hardly the same as suriviving the slaught Anakin wrought. He was damn thourough in that.

Though knowing the EU, yes they will probably survive.

Nope...Barriss literally go axed by a Juggernaut tank......and many many missles. This was shown in the adaption.

Shaak-Ti? Dead by Anakin's hands.

Yeah, Nejaa. Friggin' Corellians are hard to keep track of.

To clarify, I mean the Jedi introduced in the PT pretty much all bought it.

Got a canon source on the Dark Woman's survival? The Star Wars Tales story of Vader going after her is Infinities at the moment, unless it's been validated by another reference.

(Which would be cool, because it was a bitchin' story.)

If you say so. I don't know their names and was just going by what was said of who they are. If they bit it on screen or slightly of, that's that.
