Seniority Ranking System

Give all credit to Alyeska, who developed this formula over at SB during a story debate. Here's the original quote:

Take your total post count, devide it by your posts per day rating. That will give you the number of days you have been registered at SB. Then multiply the number of days you have been at SB by 27 (to account for time at SB) and then add that number to your post count. That gives you your ranking number.

Ignoring your actual post count, what this ranking does is awards you 27 points for every day you have been registered at SB, each post you have is also a point.
My attempt to simplify this:

post count / posts per day = A;
A x 27 = B;
B + post count = ranking number.

For me, I got 2510.

You forgot to include the time spent at SD.net.

Have a very nice day.

No, he did, the 27.
That would be the POSTCOUNT/POSTS PER DAYx 27, not DAYS SPENT x 27.

Have a very nice day.

Judging by the numbers the two of you got, looks like the system's valid.

Once the days spread thin and my posting increases I shall conquer many. But I don't see how you got more. You've been here longer and have aroun 1/2 my count. think of Verilon's.

Just cause I've got nothing else to do, I did Bean's for him.

Ouch.

My 2510 feels so small.

I've been here since day 1. Postcount divided by posts per day=high number.

But, note that I've said "So far". Already Sea Skimmer, Bean and others outrank be by a lot.

Have a very nice day.

More evidence that the ranking system works. Maybe we can have Wong build this into the board's system :mrgreen:

Just kidding. :wink:
