LIVE! Jedi versus Redshirts!

Post by Ford Prefect »

This is an odd little something that happened here in Australia.

At the premiere screening of ROTS, there was a bunch of guys dressed as Jedi. For some unknown reason, there was also a bunch of guys dressed as Redshirts. Arguments ensued, then conflict.

The result: Jedi:1 Redshirts: 0

MarCon 40, the Multiple Alternate Realities Convention(IE, all fiction welcome) had the 501st show up en masse. They had a Starfleet officer in cuffs. The whole time.

Of course, said officer was a hot chick and when not cuffed in a chair, was clinging to a trooper with her cuffs on, so...

*laughs* No matter what way you look at it, Star Wars rocks on over Star Trek. Always.

Over here, there was apparently a fight between 4 Jedi, 4 TOS officers (red, yellow, and blue uniforms), and Link from The Legend of Zelda. The fight was instigated and continued by my best friend, who wasn't dressed up as anyone. I missed it 'cause I was saving seats. Don't know who won, the fight was broken up.

But the fight then started again after the movie, minus Link. No real resolution.

They were mock battles anyway, all in good fun.

*clicks fingers* That's the one. I forgot about Link. My information was slightly skewed then.

And you were involved? Excellent. First hand source. Sorta.

Wait, why was there a Link at a RotS screening?

Oops, I should've specified that it was the RotS opening midnight showing.

No, this was a midnight showing in Virginia. I was relating a similar experience. I imagine there were quite a number of Jedi vs Redshirt matchups around the world that day. :)

That doesn't explain it! Why would anyone dress up as Link for any showing of a Star Wars film? (Unless there was some sort of crossover. Darth Ganon!)

the same reason a trekkie would show up to a star wars showing dressed up in a starfleet outfit? or as a klingon?

Felger wasn't a Wars fan he idolised SG-1, hence the 'at least my heros are real' line.
