Recently moved back to the Alki section of West Seattle, near the beach, and although the traffic is kind of a bitch when the weather gets nice, I do like being near the water. If I head 1-1/2 blocks north I'm on the long sandy beach that's one big 'scene' and fairly crowded on the weekends ... if I go 3 blocks SW I get to a much less crowded beach with some nice views:

I lost count of all the ratfish & dogfish we snagged while fishing for something better over the years ...
But since salmon, Dungeness crab and a bunch of oysters & clams come out of the same Sound, I have no complaints.
