can mechwarrior 2 be played on Win XP

I am trying to get MechWarrior 2 to play on WinXP, but it puts up a warning that says "Not NT compatable." Is there a way to get Mech2 to play?

I remember reading about a Win9x emu package or something like that to let you play Win9x games, but that might be for Linux.

You could have Googled it before asking, you know. First result of such a search is here, which explains that while the Windows 95 edition of MW2 can't run under XP, period, the DOS version can run with help from VDMS or DOSBox plus a noCD crack.
