A Game of Nomic?

Post by StarshipTitanic »

An interesting game that is perfect for a webboard. A different kind of creativity than from a STGOD, perhaps?

I'll volunteer to be the record-keeper for the game if it gets off the ground.

Basically, it's a game where the players propose new rules to add to the game and everyone votes on adding or rejecting the rule. They get points depending on how popular their suggestions are. The thing is that all the rules can be changed, deleted, or reinstated at the group's whim.

The intro section on that page is pretty long-winded. If you skip ahead to the initial set of rules, you'll get the general idea of the game.
"Man's unfailing capacity to believe what he prefers to be true rather than what the evidence shows to be likely and possible has always astounded me...God has not been proven not to exist, therefore he must exist." -- Academician Prokhor Zakharov

"Hal grabs life by the balls and doesn't let you do that [to] hal."

"I hereby declare myself master of the known world."
