Product keys not working.

Post by Dartzap »

I recently got a new computer, and one of the first things i tried to was to install my copy of Homeworld on there, but for some reason the CD key is not working, is there any reason why this might occur?

Check UPPER/lover case, test if it is a 0 or a O and so on.

Good luck

Maybe try the company support line? Perhaps in that time some hacker or (less than) friend stole your key and has been using it as their own? Don't companies issue new keys when this sort of thing happens?

I doubt it would be that. It sounds like it's failing to install, and a stolen cd key shouldn't be checked until he tries to play online.

Do you by any chance have any Gravis products installed?

I know the Gravis Xperience software cause problems for me with Unreal Engine games and some LucasArts products that use secururom or product activation keys. Disable the Gravis Software (if you have it) and then install. You can still use it afterwards probably.
