Video troubles...

Post by weemadando »

A relative recently gave me a cd of their videos from a recent trip that they had put in xvid format avi. The video file is just under 700mb in size making it excellent for cd transportation, but my g/f hates watching stuff on the PC, so I want to make it into a VCD.

I've tried with Nero, but it works out being just too big following the conversion. I've tried numerous conversion to other formats, but when I go to make a VCD it always ends up being just a little too big.

Is there any software that will auto-size the encoding to be neatly 80min CD sized VCD? Or do I have no chance at all?

Anybody?

Anybody at all?

I've even tried re-encoding it to mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 and burning it straight to CD without VCD encoding as my DVD player usually plays those. But, no joy. Please I need a bit of software that can split a video file or at someone give me a tip on how to do this!
