Is htis going to bear any resemblance to the S.M. Stirling Terminator books, or is the resemblance going to be entirely superficial?

Unfortunately all available information points to that not being the Infiltrator. :(

All information indicates that they will not mesh in any way at all. There are already several different storylines around via books and comics. Stirling's work is just one of many.

And I thought the Female Terminator they casted wouldn't totally work out. I would have casted Natasha Henstridge.

I wish they would do Stirling's work...

This film could blow so hard if done slightly wrong.

Hmmm. I like her design (the mechanical parts, I mean). She looks sleek and pretty tough.

So, will she be an up from the T-1000 or be slightly less powerful, like a T-900 or so?

Seems unreasonable not use the Liquid Metal in an upgraded T. Or it could be something like a T-400, an earlier model, since it is the begining of the machines reign of perfection... err terror.

I don't get it, she is supposed to be made of sentient frequency matter like a Vorlon or something and able to control any machine (like a Culture effector).

I'd see it if only because some of the stuff released shows the Terminator has an RPG at some point. No point in seeing it for story though.

Huh, i've known that there'd be a female Terminator in the film for months, if not a year. and from what I've heard, it's not any normal kind of model like a T-800, T-1000, or T-600 (the rubber-skinned earlier models mentioned in the first film), but some kind of mass of nano-machine (though not like the nano-processor-controlled 'liquid metal' comprising the T-1000s). Haven't heard much else, though.

I've still got a bad feeling about this one, especially since Cameron isn't working on it...

I have hopes more on the scale that...what are they trying to do...personally I say Cameron should've given the big fuck you and done his original ending(no open ending...2031...is peaceful...no mass war with machines)

But nope we get this ending of the road and now we have people making sequels for what?

The start of the war?!

Why...we know John will survive...and win...oi and they are thinking of Terminator 4.

No Cameron? Pfffffffft! I won't even rent it! Unless Stanley Kubrick directs it. Oh wait... he's dead. Never mind.

The novelisation of Terminator 2 says that John goes on to become a Senator etc..... what was the point in lowering Arnie into the molten steel and burning the chip if they were gonna fuck it all up. Does holywood think we are all dumb the great thing about ending films is it's leaves certain things that happen afterwards UP TO THE IMAGINATION.

Imagination doesn't let the scum sucking Hollywood 'talent' and executives buy more $50 million dollar houses. It's as simple as that.

I'm so afraid you're right. If it is done well (not like the Stirling books) then it'll kick ass but a terminator movie without James Cameronn doesn't seem right. I think it could be very very cool but I'm skeptical. I'll probably see it for the chance to see a Terminator movie on the big screen.

Here's a link to a pic of the T-1. I'm guessing the first of the line.

I hear that Michael Biehn is reprising his role as Kyle Reese in a breif appearance. Any truth to that?

"'No, I am NOT in a cameo in T3. I am in no way involved," said the actor. When the president of his fan club said she thought T3 wouldn't be that great anyway, Biehn replied "It's not Jim Cameron, period. And you can quote me on that!" (CA)

I guess not.
