Has anyone with a Logitech MX1000 mouse figured out how to get the two buttons working on Firefox? It works fine in Internet Explorer but it won't register in FF.
Is there an extension I missed that corrects it or is there just no way of getting it done?

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

I use the All-in-one gestures extension, and have never had a problem. I seriously can't see your choice of mouse being an issue.
Oh, I now read your post more carefully -- you're trying to get *mouse* buttons to work. Sorry, no help here, I just use mouse gestures.
