Help me ID this game (Megadrive/Genesis)

Post by Xisiqomelir »

I dunno if it ever came out for the Genesis, I played it with a passthrough adapter on my Megadrive, never understanding a word of the text.

Description: It was a monster raising/battling game. The battling part was the main thing, and took place in a square ring with ropes, set at a 45 degree angle so it was diamond-shaped.

The raising part involved buying these bottles of red and green liquid and giving them to the monster.

Originally, your monster is sort of dragonish and green, but after every few battles you get to pick one of the enemies you defeated and fuse it with your monster in a mutation tank.

Ok, that's all I got :)

Ogre Battle or Ogre Tactics? I'm know the game you're talking about, but I can't remember it either. :S

I'm quite certain it would be neither of those. (Assuming that the latter is supposed to be Tactics Ogre.) Besides, both of those as I know it are SNES-era or later.

Ogre Battle, IIRC is more of a war game, which you command units of an army to fight the enemy, which when one is met fight out in a AI-dominated RPG-style fight. Tactics Ogre is somewhat similar to FF:Tactics from what I hear, never having played FFT.

Oh, I remembered them having isometric battles with 'pet' monsters like the OP. I guess not? :)

Tactics Ogre had an isometric layout. But it can't be called a ring except in the loosest sense. Here is a screenshot.

As for monsters, you can get them but they're completely optional. And they can at best change classes with experience, not fuse with others.
