out in march 2006 in Japan for around 120euros
4 level of lightness for the screens
smaller, lighter

eh, the original works for ne. It doesn't address any major issue like the SP did. For people with smaller hands or less space on their person, this might be an improvement, but I don't picture this being something you'd spend money on if you already had an original model.

EDIT: Also, where's the power button?

I have the current model, I'd definately get this... I like the fact that it's more compact and you can change the brightness level.

Heh, looks almost exactly like one of the old Game & Watch products. :)

I always thought the original one was a bit too clunky in design, overall. This one definately cuts down the fat.

Neat, hope they'll eventually be released outside Japan, since being forced to import will not be fun.

The design of that DS has a distict similarity to the white Nintendo Revolution controller. I guess Nintendo is trying to reinvent itself to a more modern look. This could be a smart move since Nintendo products until now have looked more like... well... toys. It'll be interesting to see if Nintendo will keep this new style up.
