[Stargate Games] And now - the big reveal!

Post by weemadando »

Yahoo News.

So, its finally revealed why MGM wouldn't allow SG1: The Alliance to continue development. They've decided that there is FAR MORE MONEY to be made in milking people of monthly fees for the rest of eternity.

Fuck you MGM. Fuck you so fucking hard that the blood from your torn anus backs up through your intestinal track and bubbles out your nose. Why the fuck does EVERYTHING have to be an MMO nowadays?

Because it is damn hard to not make a profit with an MMO if you are set up to run it as a niche market thing if that is what it is going to be.

Stargate... MMO? I get how stuff can be run but.. jeez. An FPS is accessable and mainstream enough to appeal to a lot of people. Stargate fans are a rather small market still, and certainly not enough to sustain an MMO...

Wonderful thinking HERE.

We all know the best possible stargate game would be an X-COM Style tactical one, anyway. Your Tau'ri forces against legions of legos and snakeheads!:P

Ah, but an MMO does not really need a huge number of players to sustain itself and make a decent profit. And a SCI-FI MMO that doesn't suck could have a draw of its own regardless of what it is based on.

They will not be getting a cent from me now. I would've bought a decently done Stargate FPS, but I refuse to buy anything with a monthly fee. Fuck that shit.
