WTF.. Cannot Access

OKay.. last night everything was working fine with my laptop.

I turn it on today and now it can't open Word, Sound Recorder, or my Antivirus Software and that's just what I've tried.

Every time it's the exact same error message- 'Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.'

Anyone have any idea why it's doing this? I haven't changed any settings since last night and it's letting me use Firefox with no problems.

Tried booting it up into safemode to do an antivirus search?

Sometimes all it takes is a clear head. Rebooted in safe mode and caught the little bastard.
