Scorpion Fighters?

Post by FaxModem1 »

Why, in the fina battle, didn't Shinzon launch any of his fighters to help crush the Enterprise?

The only reason I can think of is that he wanted the ship dsabled, not destroyed, and te increase of fighters plus the Scimitar's firepower would have destroyed the Enterprise before they could get Picard.

Or am I wrong? IF I am, correct me

Thought occured to me too, then I immediately dismissed it. Using the fighters would have been a pointless waste of resourses. They probly couldn't even stand to a phaser blast from anything short of a shuttle, and if their opponent had been evenly matched, those could turn the tide, draining the other ship of phaser energy and torps, or getting free shots out on the ship, but the E-E had no real chance to win against the Sci, it was just the ramming attack that turned the tide into a stalemate. Those fighters used would have not made a diffrence in the battle, but it would have cost the Sci Reman lives and ships.

The fighters are probably for ground attack or taking out shuttle craft. Those light fighters couldnt have much for shielding so if you launched them they would be easy meat to rapid fire phasers or torps set on proximity detonation.
