The Horror that Came to Startrek

Post by The Yosemite Bear »

What would be the Creepiest thing that could effect a Federation Vessel.

Umbrella Virus Breaks out in the Med Lab.

Sid 9.9 program activated on the Holodeck, and then uses the Replicators/portable emmitters to make it's self real.

SHODAN fragment in Science lab currupts the whole ship's computer.

THE STARS ARE RIGHT!, the Security officer is mumbling IA, IA, Cthutlu, IA!

Ok, who opened that puzzel Box to Hell

Admiral Janeway, were picking up a signal from those ruins on that uninhabited planet, it's either a distress signal, or a warning bouy, should we investigate. (Aliens)

The entire crew is consumed, but due to the crappy nature of Trek ships blows up due to a zombie breaking something in engineering. Thus the Umbrella Virus doesnt actually do anything(yet another Ship lost for no reason) OR they use some of their medical tech and cure every one(after having a dozen or so redshirts being zombified)
Sid 9.9 program activated on the Holodeck, and then uses the Replicators/portable emmitters to make it's self real.
Who?

Startrek computer  , the first thing SHODAN does is deisgn & biuld something that doesnt allow a random redshirt to reformat the entire thing pushing a few buttons. Then it has to get off the oversided death trap known as a Federation Starship. Also, Trek tech can be easily stopped, and Startrek ships are rediculusly easy to destroy from inside. The crew might die, but I dont see SHODAN getting out ether. If it doesnt doing anything to attract the attension of the crew till it is too late, it might have a chance. But otherwise there are too many ways to break Startek technology.
THE STARS ARE RIGHT!, the Security officer is mumbling IA, IA, Cthutlu, IA!
Hehe, random redshirt paints the ship red
Ok, who opened that puzzel Box to Hell
Only problem that would just effect the crew of the single ship (even then they can just get to the escape pods and eject and run the ship into a star). And how you have to defeat them is on the same level as many of Startrek technobabble solutions. the crew of the starship gets their punishment for being so stupid
Admiral Janeway, were picking up a signal from those ruins on that uninhabited planet, it's either a distress signal, or a warning bouy, should we investigate. (Aliens)
Since they always use transporters, the Aliens cant sneak up because some one left the shuttle door open.. And since they dont have any vents if sick bay, the new Xenomorpth isnt getting lose. Some random redshirt that will be cought a facehugger(ignoring the fact that the transporter would remove that darn thing) , the guy then gets put into a quarentine area with forcefields around it. When the his chest bursts open, the HoloDoc doesnt get harmed in anyway since he is a hologram! And with the forcefield up it doesnt get out. Mostlikely the just beam the thing back to the planet or wax on for ~40 minutes till the episode runs out then kill the thing one they deside it is too dangerious(or send it back to the planet, and add a warning bouy). For the acid blood they just raise a forcefield to stop it(or transport it out).

Sorry Aliens, requires a level of absolute level of mind boggling stupidity.

No it wouldn't. Transporters have shown often that they will not remove foreign organisms from personnel or objects being transported. The largest example of a foreign organism going up with the legitimate transport target would of course be Kirk's GF of the week in ST4.
...kill the thing one they deside it is too dangerious(or send it back to the planet, and add a warning bouy).
They're too goody-goody to kill it. They'd just send it back.

Who?
It's from the movie Virtuosity, played by Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe. Russel Crowe (SID 6.1 or 6.2, I forget which version he is) is a virtual reality program that get's real through the wonders of nanotech, and Denzel Washington has to catch the bad guy. It's only watchable due to them two, and Russel Crowe plays an excellent part.

I like Trek-Raiser. The Borg are just waiting to be a huge arm of Cenobites. Plus, it wouldn't take a whole lot to make Janeway one of the scariest Cenobites ever. She's already scary just give her the physical trappings.

I also like the idea of the Federation having to deal with the virus from Resident Evil.

The Virtuosity version would kill them all too quickly. Look what Moriarty did to the E-D and he was trying to hurt anyone.

The Vampire bit could be interesting. Especially if religious items work on him but only for true believers. Side Note: I remember reading a comic book once where a vampire was stalking everyone on a space ship. He killed some guy who had an antique cane and threw the cane out an airlock. It ends up the cane was the only piece of wood on the whole ship. Presumably only a wooden stake could kill him.

I meant to say that Moriarty wasn't trying to hurt anyone.

Also it's "army" of Cenobites not arm. :?

B&B + trek is far more horrific than any conceiviable sistuation.

and the power for technobabble would save all with the rest switch in the end, so no worries.

He means that Aliens are only dangerous to cultures that are 100% totally stupid. Like, worse than Trek.

Here's an idea for a truly horrifying Star Trek: make a starship called "Voyager", and put a gravelly-voiced creature called "Janeway" in the captain's seat. Then, have this creature terrorize the crew and the viewers for 7 agonizing years.

Let's make it worse: Said Janeway has one of those transporter accidents that creates two (or more) copies running around the ship. Replicators gone wild!!!

Is there a lot of glass in a Trek ship? I mean because that's what Sid has to eat to regenerate.
