The coolest thing is when you switch the background music. Some songs kick ass when sped up.

What cheats are you using? I'm editing the parameter file just for kicks, but not counting my scores there.

Press T and it brings up a line showing the path of the ball. Useful for first timers to see the effects of the plasma.

Weird, I got a far lower score with that on. Confused me.

29 so far. (no cheats)

Better wait until I've written out some more notes before I try again.

Grab the ball, take it to the bottom of the screen, then rapidly release it and suck it back in repeatedly and quickly. The shockwaves this creates will get all the fluid in the arena rapidly moving toward the upper right corner, as your opponent invariably hovers directly in front of you, spewing out plasma.

Once the flow is going your way, release the ball for good and immediately hold the left button to put a flow of your own plasma behind it. Sometimes a quirk of the currents will slow it down just a little, or the AI will wisely begin suction even before getting into position, either of which is enough to let it make the save. But quite often you'll score.

Just keep an eye on the flow, sometimes the ball will slip out of that rapid forward current and get sucked into the equally rapid return coming in along the sides, and you'll kill yourself.

The Shaithis Cheese Method is pretty cool, but I enjoy playing it with ONLY the plasma blower (left click) function. Makes a much harder game with some epic battles. I can only get to ~20 playing this way.

22 here too

The ball conspires against me. Fucker charges my paddle way harder than it does the AI at the random direction in the start. Even a full blast into it while hitting it with the paddle and it bounces/rolls off into my side anyhow.

Just got up to 116.

Also, yes, the ball often zooms right towards your side at the start of a round. You just have to be quick, and remember that it most often (but not always) heads for the top.

On the other hand, if it remains relatively stationary, having left-click held down as the round begins can often blow it past the enemy paddle before it knows what hit it.

It seems like the random direction is just a hold over from currents left in the last level. When I use the corner shockwave method (gotten to ~80 with that) it'll often blast up to the computer's corner immediately 2 or 3 levels in a row.

When you just use the blower it really is random though.

Starting with the plasma blower on leads to a cool anime-y effect when your stream and the computer's collide with the ball in the center, mounting pressures briefly balanced...

I really like 1.2. Everydamnthing is customizable in a nice GUI (I changed the music to shift up by about 1/3 step every level instead of 1/2), but a lot of the changes took some getting used to. Especially the charger for the shockwave.

Gotten to level 30 so far.
