Should you bunch up power leads?

Post by Stark »

Serious question. My primary electrical experience is inside computers, which are absolutely chock of low-volt power leads all bunched up and ziptied. Is it bad to do the same thing to proper, in-yer-house power leads? Bear in mind I'm Australian, so the residential voltage is 240ish.

Yes, this is because the cord for my electric toothbrush charger pisses me off. :D

I can't imagine a problem. But my imagination is limited.
73% of all statistics are made up, including this one.

I'm waiting as fast as I can.

Yeah, my flatmate was just zoning me on it. My razor-charge cable is one of those coil ones anyway...

You will die a horrible death. Yes it's ok to bunch the cord, as long as you do it in a way that doesn't put stress on the plug or where the cord enters the appliance. In other words, don't bunch the cord by the plug and leave it all hanging in mid-air.

Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either. :P

Coolies. I've just wound them up regular like, and rubber-banded them. Ha! Take that, flatmate! :D
