The size of Pentastar Alignment

Post by Dark Primus »

I have been trying to find some info about this Imperial aligned faction by Google and they mostly say the same. It is made up by hundreds of star systems and it even had a Super Star Destroyer named Reaper But nothing how much it's space it coverd, how many sectors it made up. I have heard three sectors at most some time ago, and Velcar sector was one of them from a source now long forgotten. But I was wondering if anyone here could share some light on it?

Going just by memory, it consisted of the majority of Oversector Outer, which encompassed most sectors in the Outer Rim.

That doesn't make much sense if it had only "hundreds of star systems" in most sources I have found. Unless it was a very spread out faction and not all systems where grouped tight together as the Hapan Empire...
If it dominated Outer Rim then it would have many billions of systems???

You got me. I don't have SWAJ #3, which most of the info on the Alignment comes from. Publius or someone else can probably help you more.

Its definately not 'most of oversector outer', thats more or less the entire outer rim. IIRC, Pellaeon took control of it and nicked Reaper for his flagship (which he then went on to pwn Antilles and the Lusankya with), and this was during the final retreat phase of the Remnant. This means that its more or less certain that the Pentastar Alignment was in the section of the galaxy which the Remnant now controls, ie around the Bastion area. It was Outer Rim, it incorporated elements of five major Imperial corporations, and it included parts of Oversector Outer, but by no means all of it. It is also said to have included Sullust, which contradicts everything which states Sullust was in the NR.

I have SWAJ #3 in my hand now and, like most SWRPG supplements of the time, territorial quantification or even mapping was something WEG didn't really do at this juncture, perhaps because they didn't want to put where systems are to be set in stone... the first SWAJ with a map of a sector was #7 IIRC with the Ringali Shell. Thereafter their larger supplements would have maps, like the Elrood Sector, Sisar Run, Tapani Sector and DarkStryder campaign's Kathol Sector supplements.
The Pentastar Alignment Treaty quickly led to the dread and deceit that would be simply known as the Pentastar Alignment. With hundreds of capital ships and several legions of loyal Imperial Army soldiers and stormtroopers at their command, and more forces joining all the time, the Alignment has swallowed systems in its pathwhile installing planetary overseers to its will and desires.
and again...
The Pentastar Alignment encompasses hundreds of worlds.
I would guess they consist less than 10 sectors, which had minimal military presence before Endor, except for Scourge Squadron (of which the Reaper was the flagship) and KDY and Sienar's naval shipyards at Jaemus.

And it wasn't Pellaeon who took command of the Reaper post-Endor, it was Grand Moff Ardus Kaine (unless it happened some time later which I'm not aware of, in which case I apologize in advance.)

Pellaeon took command of the Reaper after the death of Ardus Kaine in Operation Shadowhand. After the Moff's death, Pellaeon took the opportunity to bring the Alignment into the Remnant, along with Scourge Squadron and the Reaper.

The information about Sullust being in the Alignment must be severely in error, because every map I've seen puts Sullust over on the other side of the galaxy to the Alignment, on the other side of the core. I'm not sure of the original source for this information, but Wookieepedia suggests its correct. Methinks otherwise.
