Ignorant Evangelion Question
Just starting to watch the series, and I'm trying to figure out how big the Eva's are. I'm guessing at about 80m tall. Is that accurate?
Followup, anyone know of a good Datasite for Evangelion?

40 meters eh...Heisie Godzilla could pick one up with one hand (probably around the waist) and crush away....but he'd have to catch one first.
That number seems more accurate than my calc... Though, in most animated programs, size tends to change as time goes on. we must go with a number based on how big they are on Average.

Based on size comparisons between the Eva 02 and the aircraft carrier Over the Rainbow, as well as other calcs, an Evangelion is between 60-65 metres tall, or roughly 200 feet.
Eva Otaku is one of the best sites, as it takes official fact over the personal "speculations" of fans.

Just wanted to add that Darth Utsanomiko and myself have an excelent grasp of the Eva world, and can answer most questions correctly.

Um, Spanky, you seem to have it in for most Eva fans...

That's because like a significant portion of my fellow Gundam fans, a lot of Evangelion fans are pretty stupid.
Eva fans in particular seem to think that their personal opinions override official facts.

No kidding.
Some of them are so mind-numbingly idiotic that it hurts my brain to read what they spew.
Sometimes it makes me wish I wasn't always the person with the right answers...
And not to center my distaste entirely on the idiot Eva fans, as I said, some Gundam fans are pretty rock stupid as well. Most don't know shit about anything that's after the One Year War (and even then they don't know anything). They make up a lot of MS design lineages that simply don't exist, and aren't that good understanding the basic sciences of the saga.

Oh, and if you have any questions after you see the ending, only listen to me.
I also wanted to comment that I really hope you've actually bought the series, and aren't just downloading it like a God damn thief.

I scaled my Perfect Grade Eva-01 model at about 135m.
I apparently didn't save my post as a txt file, so I don't have it handy--however, I used a 2m diameter Entry Plug (which might might be a little big), which was about 3mm in diameter on the model. The model itself stood about 37cm tall at the top of its weapon canisters.

Ah, just found the post on SB.
Just for reference, I scaled my Perfect Grade Eva-01 at 127 meters (assuming a 1.5m diameter entry plug, which is 4mm in the model, and the model's 34cm tall).
