Restart. I had this happen once, AFTER CLICKING ONE OF YOUR LINKS, and restarting FF fixed it.

If that doesn't work, I hope you have a recent profile backup.

Tried restarting FF, tried rebooting. IT WON"T GO AWAY! (hmm that's funny it doesn't do it while entering text in a form anymore!)

It started right after I clicked a Youtube link.

Okay, it appears the issue has resolved itself in an adequate manner. I'll remember to make use of the apparent 'feature' I've discovered only after it malfunctioned. :)

For future reference, before calling something an 'excessively stupid bug', hit help -> help contents, and take a look, especially at the keyboard shortcuts section. You might learn something new.
The problem appears to be that in *very* rare cases, the browser doesn't recognise the user is typing in a text form and continues to trigger the search box whenever ' is typed. I don't know what causes this, but it's definately a bug, not a feature.

That's the 'Excessively Stupid Bug' part, especially when it refuses to fix after a restart, forcing me to reboot the whole machine.

EDIT :P
