Christians and their unhealthy preoccupation with sex

Fundies live in a world obsessed with sexuality. Their favorite Bible verses seem to fixate on it. It's also what their so called "moral values" are all about. Their "morality" isn't about a life of charity or the pursuit of justice; it seems to be about avoiding certain sexual sins. Battling sex is apparently what life is all about.

Then, in reflection of their sheer brilliance, we see what might be the consequences of its repression: brutal abuse of kids by pedophile priests, sexual license by people like David Koresh, sadomasochistic bondage that Jimmy Swaggart used hookers to enact, the epidemic of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse that sums up the fundamentalist family, etc.

It almost makes one conclude that sexuality is going to express itself in some way; repress the desire and BAM, you're going to fixate on ridding on the world of it to the point of looking like the screwball you are to everyone else.

When they rally against things like the morning after pill or abortion, it seems fairly obvious that what they really hate is the idea that sexual freedom might happen with no consequence.

Anyway, I'm writing a paper for a class on this topic. What do y'all think about this topic?

It's like the fundamentalist repression is a bunch of explosive lenses that form a perfectly spherical shockwave inward, the sexuality is the hollow sphere of uranium-235, and the perversion is the tiny Polonium-210/Beryllium 'Urchin' in the center.

The U235 is fine left alone, if a bit warm. This is the normal sexuality. The explosive lenses of the repression crushes this into a sphere much too small for its liking, the perversion of the Po-210 urchin sprays out neutrons or 'guilt', and the whole thing comes unhinged in a huge blast of fifty-million-degree Hell, usually destroying everything and everyone around it.

Either way, Shit Blows Up™.

What I'd like to know is, if there is really more pervert/kinky/abusive sex among religious fundies than the rest of the population or if it just gets more media-attention because of the difference between claimed ideal and reality?

Its an inverse reaction between how suppressed they are sexually and how easily they become aroused. Look at the far more repressed muslim fundies, where they find any exposed skin on a woman arousing.
