Yeah, like it says. Its untitled, and defintely in the working stages, but here goes.

Chapter 1: Or maybe this should be a prologue.

It senses the warship coming in from behind, a vulcan blazing. It shifts its feilds, and commits evasive action, feeling six rounds ping off its armor, small pin-pricks of its mind slowing down from the hits. It twists, and returns the gesture, and returns to what it was doing.

As it moves, it considers the reason for this battle. Proofless knowledge, it considers. The basic fundamentals being life after death, omnipoeten beings with nothing better to do, and other piecies of unrational thinking. It would be, it contiued, understandable to follow these, but to kill over it?

It ended on this train of thought with the same perplexity as all had, but it contiued with its duty. It watched as various radio patterns came from seprate ships, like a kalidioscope of across the radio spectrum. It linked together bits and pieces together for an excersize to keep its mind occupied as it whiled away the seconds to get to its target. It formed a colloge of the occasional radio-form semi-static of its fellows and the jibberings of those they were fighting. It found the noise to be both frightening and annoying, and descieded to keep it as a reminder of this horror. It quickly rejoined the battle, using the opponents communications against them. It half-watched as its weapon tore through mixtures of mono-mole and titanium with realitive ease.

It continues to move toward its target. A small comm sattelite, unarmed from both logistical and statistical points of view, but there none the less. It shifted its weapon, and once it was in view, fired on the station. It watched the stream of low bandwidth-light that came from the beam. It stopped paying attention to that section of the spectrum, as it watched the otherwise invisible beam punch through the station without resistance. It diced the station with the beam, turning a hightech radio-based comm sattelite into sharpnel and debris in mere seconds.

It turned to watch a massive lance of light cut a swath of destruction below. It found it intresting to watch the kaleidiscope of light as the beam impacted with the planet's atmosphere. Random patterns of heat and light flew from the impact, and it watch the massive detenation when it impacted on the planet's surface. It could see the shockwave from its position, tearing outward from the base. As the beam cut across the surface, it watched as the the beam crossed over the shock-wave, disrupting and warping it into a mishapen wake. It watched as the lance ripped open the underground bunkers of their leaders (Another perplexity of them in and of itself. To vest so much power in a single being was idiocy, how could you trust them so entirely?)

It latched onto the station, and took up a perch on a piece of wreckage. It saw the beam cease, and the tail-end finish the destructive swath. Much slower than the paticle cannon, small canisters of material were fired at the massive rock. Being slightly bored, it worked out the amount of time it would take for the canister's to impact with the surface. When the canisters did impact (It was a little late) with the surface below, it recalled, latches would release, allowing the matter inside the container to react with matter outside. The sudden energy release as the two forms of matter reacted with each other caused a massive detenation. The bright bursts of white as the detenations occured, showing what sections of the surface were instantly vaporizied. It contiued to watch as the dust clouds slowly rose up, the shockwaves that shown through the clouds criss-crossing the entire surface.

It was especially intrested by the shockwaves when the hit the large body's of liquid that covered some of the rock's surface. It recalled that the liquid was formed from a mixture of dihydrogen oxide, along with granular sodium chloride mixed in. Altogether it covered a good amount of the rock's surface, close to 53%, they did not inhabit much of it, nor did they try to. It seemed odd, but then, it considered, they inthemselves seemed odd. With that, it left its perch on the wreckage of the station, and headed back to a larger craft.

It reflected that this was nessacary, as they preformed an action once, they could, therefore, preform it again. But like many others, it doubted they needed to go to such lengths. Such wholesale destruction was something they did not want to do, but many saw it as nessacary. It cannot even imagine what horrors face those on the surface. Nor does it want to, but parts of its mind try anyways. It pushed these thoughts away. It now fully understood what it's race had done.

I feel quite disheartened that only one person out of the 20 or so people who viewed this fic have bothered with the poll, and their choice was "Not bad, but not very good either."
